System migration involves moving a set of hardware or software from one platform to another and it usually involves downtime while the old system is replaced with a new one.

Common system migration & upgrade are Windows client upgrade (from Windows XP to Windows 10), Windows Server upgrade (Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2019 and usually involves Active Directory and Data Migration), Microsoft Exchange Mail server migration (Exchange Server 2007 to 2019) and Microsoft Office upgrade (Office 2007 to Office 2019).

Other than operating system and software migration, common migration involves hardware upgrade such as from Old Computer/Server to New Computer/Server and Data Migration which is the transferring data from old system to new system.
